It is an independent public institution that is responsible of drafting, reevaluating and publishing the curricula and educational materials in the Lebanese schools. It is the consulting agency of the Ministry of Education.

Every new book cannot be used by schools unless it is either published by CERD or approved by it. It is the center that governs most of the information flowing into the minds of the Lebanese youth.
